After a discussion with the team, Yao-Hong is leaving Resohub due to his personal reasons. Resohub will now be operated by Nathan Wang and Shang Yang.
After attending the Techno workshop and studying about entrepreneurship, one of the main message that always comes to mind is talking to your users or customers. Currently, we are trying understand problems faced by software developers (particularly interested in area of searching information to solve their problems).
We have conducted at least 20+ face-to-face interviews in Toronto. Now, we would like to reach out to more people. We have created an online survey that takes roughly 15 mins to complete. If you have time to spare, we would appreciate it very much. Please complete this survey. We appreciate your time very much! If there is anything that we could do better, please do not hesitate to tell us. Friday (July 10, 2015) was our last day at the Techno 2015 workshop. It has been an amazing experience for Resohub. The picture above shows me presenting our pitch in front of all future entrepreneurs and some friends of the Impact Center.
Since last Sunday, Resohub has released Xpansive Search on our backend server. From now onwards, the search results returned should be greatly improved. In this post, we would like to illustrate roughly how Resohub's results differ from Google's. Our job post feature has been rolled out. It has the ability to detect your location as well as programming languages. For example, when you search for "C++ string", the jobs returned would be somewhat related to "C++". Other than, we have also improved our UI a bit.
In this blog post, we have something special - a guest blogger! Sho Gen, is a friend of mine who is a University of New Brunswick Computer Science student. He is writing for us today to show us how to set Resohub as your default search engine. On behalf of Resohub, I want to thank Sho for sharing this information with us.
First of all, we have to thank everyone who gave Resohub a try. For those who gave us feedback, we appreciate it very much. Having feedback from our users is crucial. It has allowed us to determine the upcoming features which we will be introducing in the coming 2 weeks. Here are lists of them:
Do you have any opinion which features you like the most? Complete this survey below: Before we start this post, please consider filling out this survey - How many of you uses mobile/tablet daily in work to search for information? In our previous post, we talked about how to set up Resohub with Chrome so that you can get easy access to it. However, we did not have the chance to show you how to use it. So, we created a video to show you what Resohub can do: Remember, if you have any suggestions or bug to report, use the "Feedback" button.
We hope you will find it useful. Resohub's current 2 useful features are: (i) simultaneously searching Google, Stackoverflow and Github, and (ii) auto-categorization of which links are examples, documentation, explanation and code. It is designed for software developers to find information faster. There are two ways to make Resohub (prototype version) to be more compatible with Chrome. We know that our prototype address is not a typical URL and therefore we are suggesting 3 ways to make our prototype more accessible.
